St. Mary Parish, 13320 Garden Plain Road in Morrison, will host a Lent retreat from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 6. The topic is "Becoming a Woman of God." The retreat will lead participants to become the whole, holy and authentic self that God made them to be.
Cathleen Filipski will lead the retreat. She is serving in spiritual ministries through Scripture and prayer. She is a wife and mother of six children.

Starting Sept. 6, Father Kyle Manno will be the "Priest with a Mic" on the Sirius radio
series.
It will be a three-week series, brodcasting Sept. 6, 13, and 20 at 11 a.m. CST for an hour on Sirius XM 129, the Catholic Channel.
Father Manno is the vocations director for the Diocese of Rockford and a parochial vicar at Christ the Teacher University Parish and Newman Center at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Sept. 15: Golfing for All Saints Catholic Academy
Already supporters of Rockford's All Saints Catholic Academy, due to open for the 2019-20 school year, are raising funds.
They've scheduled a golf and dinner for men and women at 1:30 p.m., Sept. 15, at Westlake Village Golf Course,
3820 Westlake Village Dr. in Winnebago.
There will be nine-holes and cart for golfers in a scramble format with prizes for lowest score, men's and women's longest drive and closest to the pin.
Dinner with a silent auction, 50/50
raffle will follow at 6: p.m. at St. James Parish Beauvais Center, 428 N. Second St., Rockford.
Reservations are due by Sept. 1.
Cost:
$25 golfing; $20 dinner.

Lt. Gleason a highly decorated retired New York City Fire Department lieutenant and a World Trade Center rescuer.
Lt. Gleason will talk about his experience on Sept. 11, 2001, and the time after the rescue and recovery operation. Lt. Gleason brings a positive inspirational message of hope from tragedy
His talk will be in the Aquin Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School auditorium. Visitors should use the Galena Street entrance.
